When you first get started with Cityville, all you really know about is using Trains to expand your city and make some sales and buy some goods.
However it’s ports that you will need to bring your goods to high levels. When you are still on the lower levels and do not have a large group of franchises to support, shipping is not as vital but as the game progresses and farming becomes a little more difficult for you, shipping goods will become more and more important.
Your best bet is to start now and get used to how it works so that you are not overwhelmed when the time comes that you absolutely need it. When you have saved up the coins to expand your city, it is time for you to expand your city by building a port.
How do I build a port?
To get a port, all you need to do is go to the “build menu” and under “shipping” you will see the “port” icon. When you have completed the port you will have to buy ships to place around the pier, just as how piers work in the real world.
When your port is finally up and running you are going to be able to buy goods from all around the wonderful world of Cityville. Ports work excellent because you can have multiple piers and ships in each port. These ships will be providing you with a constant flow of goods into your city if you have the funds to do so. Or better yet, once you have the funds to because you know you are going to if you have been following the Cityville Domination guide.
When setting up your pier or piers, you will need to use the rotate tool to place your boats sideways. This will give you more room and allow you to fit more boats in your space then if they are going to usual way. This means that you can have more boats traveling and more boats shipping goods in, more coin for you!
Here’s a picture for an example of this:
